Schools Use Most Energy For Cooling
A five-month, energy-efficient programme, in cooperation with five secondary schools here has indicated that the highest use of energy at these institutions are for cooling, followed by lighting. Cooling consumed 60 per cent of energy use while lighting took up 30 per cent.

Exhibition on progress of organically grown food
The Centre for Environment, Technology and Development Malaysia (Cetdem) and Slow Food Klang Valley Convivium with the support of Department of Agriculture and the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall are organising the 5th Malaysian Organic and Natural Products Exhibition from Sept 18–20 at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall, No 1, Jalan Maharajalela, Kuala Lumpur.
Deputy Agriculture and Agro-Based Industries Minister Chua Tee Yong will officiate at the opening of the exhibition.

“People have to make it part of their lifestyle for the campaign to be truly effective,” said Centre for Environment, Technology & Development Malaysia (Cetdem) executive director Anthony Tan.
“The whole point of the campaign is to educate people on the need to reduce taking excessive and unnecessary number of plastic bags,” said Tan.
