CETDEM’s Farmer’s Market is on Sunday 15 July 2012

This Farmer’s “Market” will be held on a rather small scale whereby a few farmers are invited to take part. The objectives of having this “Market” are:
- to provide a platform for the SMALL farmers who are either ‘fresh’ or in need of another outlet to market their produce, or those who are still struggling to strike a balance in farming.
- to build solidarity among these small farmers
- to mobilize and foster the community spirit among the small farmers
** Those [KGG members] who are practising organic home gardening for self-sustaining and would like to be part of this network are welcome.
Do come and give your support … and drop by for a simple breakfast at very affordable price! For those whose membership has expired or will expire, please find the subscription form attached should you still be interested to be part of CETDEM OF Project.
See you on 15th July, Sunday at the Organic Farming Community Centre in Section 19, Petaling Jaya.

RM40bil needed to check floods
A staggering RM40bil is needed to remedy all the flood problems in the country, said Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Douglas Uggah Embas.However, the Government was still short in flood mitigation projects with only RM2.4bil allocated so far under the 10th Malaysia Plan.
“So, we have to be creative and innovative when dealing with floods,” he told reporters after opening a seminar on “Climate Change: Adaptation or Mitigation, Do We Have a Choice?” organised by Centre for Environment, Technology and Development, Malaysia (Cetdem) here yesterday.

The Centre for Environment, Technology & Development, received the National Energy Globe Award Malaysia for its outstanding green building project DDC House.
The ENERGY GLOBE Award is today’s most prominent environmental prize worldwide. It distinguishes projects regionally, nationally and globally that conserve resources such as energy and utilize renewable or emission-free sources.
